My approach is integrative in the sense that we will tend to your emotional, intellectual, and embodied ways of being.
I bring to sessions boundless curiosity, caring challenges, and commitment to building trust at your own pace, all while keeping the focus on you. I’m here to help you embrace the intricate beauty and messiness of who you are.
Liberation Psychology
Liberation-focused therapy starts with knowing that much of your trauma stems from systemic oppression and is based on client agency and decolonized concepts of mental health.
I honor the coping skills that have helped you survive. There’s no pathologizing here, only witnessing, affirmation, presence, and collaboration.
Together, we will explore how systems affect your well-being and develop more security and openness in your relationships and community because they are part of your healing.
Individual therapy won’t solve the world’s problems, but we can start by liberating our minds and spirits from the conditioning that has harmed us.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
Internal Family Systems therapy can help you build an inner sense of harmony and the ability to be responsive and intentional, rather than shutting down or being mired in conflict, fear, trauma, anxiety, or depression.
I invite all parts of you into the room, the parts you like and the parts you keep hidden. As you connect deeply to your inner landscape, you will find more self-acceptance, compassion, and confidence.
You will discover that your being already knows what will help you heal and grow – you simply need to listen.
Brainspotting Therapy
A Brainspotting session uses eye positioning and gentle, bilateral music to help you access traumatic or stuck memories, thoughts, sensations, or feelings. This somatic therapy is designed to treat trauma by accessing emotional and body memory.
As you bring radical presence to what you notice, your mind will release and reorganize these experiences so they no longer have a hold over you.
Since this modality shapes neural pathways, it is also useful for addressing creative and performance blocks, anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, chronic pain, and phobias.
Existential Therapy
Existential therapy is for anyone asking, “Who am I?” “Why am I here?” “What’s the point of life?”
I’ll invite you to tell your story, resisting the inevitable conditioning you absorbed and the pain others put on you. We’ll explore your inner world to discover what fulfills you and brings you joy.
We’ll find your agency so you can start responding from a place of empowerment rather than from fear or anxiety. Developing agency helps you trust your inner compass and live more true to who you are.
You will learn to form mutually supportive relationships and hold healthy boundaries. We are inherently relational beings and find value and meaning in connecting with others.
Connecting to each other heals and feeds us. Connecting with the world helps us find ways to live our values, and to see the injustices around us and our place in addressing them.
